This upper is the result of years of professional shooting and competitive hunting design. This upper by itself will remove between 75-85% off all point of impact shifts when using up to a 26" barrel length or suppressor, as long as the combination is below 7.5lbs and 26" in barrel length. This is primarily offered to help those who do not want to spring for a full frame set or simply do not want another lower.

Traditional rifle uppers will shift bullet point of impact when bipod legs, barricade contact, or tripod mounting alter barrel droop or unevenly bind the support. The smallest recorded upper related elevation zero shift we have found on a longer than 16" SPR Barrel has been .16 MRAD (.57 MOA) regardless of tricks we tried. We have recorded up to a .3 MRAD (1.1 MOA) when isolating just the upper.

For years to win PRS Championships in the Gas Gun Division, Quantified Performance Matches, more recently Gas Gun Show Matches, or when simply tripod hunting. To be successful you had to be extremely particular to map out your point of impact shift when transitioning from prone / off a bench bi-pod supported, to alternative positions. Rifles were sensitive to bipod legs being ever so slightly bound on one side verse the other making fast transitions in stages very subjective to initial rifle placement while setting up for that shot.

When coyote hunting off a tripod. Often you just zeroed off the tripod to avoid the offset in positional support all together, relying heavily on a shooter recoil management to not vary from shot to shot when he was tracking or panning a trotting dog.

With this upper there is no shift in the bullet's point of impact, regardless of bi-pod position, barricade support location, or tripod use as it results from barrel droop, but there will be about a .1 MIL shift as it pertains to upper lower separation if your set up has play or flex in it. This is what I refer to as an 80% solution that will work for 9 out 10 shooters out there.

A shooter's ability to set up square behind a rifle and not input cheek or shoulder pressure variations, will still play a key point in positional success just as they do with bolt guns in full chassis/stock rigs. Fundamental still count, however now you don't have to add an arbitrary .2 MRAD to your evaluation or +/- .1 MRAD into windage based on certain positional inputs. You will also gain the other roughly 20% of POI shift reduction but keeping the upper to the lower without separating when the handguard is supported near the magwell.
