Our gas ports are engineered for reliable performance with H1 and H2 buffer weights and standard spring configurations, whether you’re running a full-mass or low-mass carrier.
We have also tested compatibility with Law Tactical folding adapters to ensure proper function. Please note, that the added weight of the folding mechanism may require suppressed shooting when using H2 or H3 buffers to maintain consistent reliability. In our testing, Hornady Sub-X ammunition has demonstrated excellent reliability when suppressed, even in short 8–8.5 inch barrels.
For the best performance, we recommend firing subsonic ammunition through a suppressor. Standard buffer weights and spring rates generally provide the most consistent and reliable cycling across a variety of builds—even when dealing with leaking gas keys. If you’re using a JP Silent Captured Spring system and need a spring specifically tuned for subsonic loads, we offer an upgraded subsonic-optimized spring option.
We have not experienced malfunctions with 6 ARC magazines from Duramag or Geissele. However, we have observed a slight accuracy improvement when using .400 Legend Duramag magazines.
***If you desire to run subsonic and super sonic loads with the same adjustable gas setting, tune the rifle to work with subs. Then supers will run, but at the expense of additional recoil***
If a gun has an adjustable gas key tuned to run supersonic offerings you will need to increase the gas setting to reliably run subs.
For optimal recoil use two different gas settings for subsonic and supersonic loads.
