If the customer wants a 1/2-28 thread the barrel diameter must exceed .590" at the point of the muzzle shoulder. This thread won't be put on any caliber larger than a 22-caliber cartridge by MTE.
If the customer wants a 5/8-24 thread the barrel diameter must exceed .695" in diameter at the muzzle shoulder. This threaded is recommended for everything from 22-caliber to 33-caliber.
If the customer wants a 3/4-24 thread the barrel diameter must exceed .830" at the point of the muzzle shoulder. This thread is recommended for everything from 33-caliber to 45-caliber.
