You may notice that our barrel pages don't ask you to select a gas system length. That's intentional.
There are countless opinions online regarding the "correct" gas system length and gas port size. The reality is that there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. The ideal configuration depends on the cartridge, barrel length, intended ammunition, suppressor use, and how the rifle will actually be used.
Rather than asking you to guess, we make those decisions for you.
Our gas system specifications are based on thousands of rounds of testing across numerous barrel lengths, bullet weights, powder combinations, and real-world shooting conditions. We continuously refine those specifications as we gather more data, ensuring every barrel leaves our shop configured for reliable function and smooth operation.
In many cases, we'll also reach out to discuss your intended use, or we already have. Whether you're building a competition rifle, a hunting rifle, or a general-purpose firearm, we take notes and tailor the gas system to your specific application whenever appropriate.
These are engineering decisions you shouldn't have to worry about. Our goal is simple: install the barrel, head to the range, and enjoy a rifle that runs smoothly and consistently—while others are still fighting excessive recoil, harsh cycling, or reliability issues.
