Product Overview

MTE 25 Creedmoor barrels are match grade, hand cut, CNC profiled to .0005" OD to ID concentricity, and perfectly aligned hand chambered barrels. MTE barrels are manufactured to extreme tolerances for superior performance throughout longer 10-15 round shot sting stages and optimal fit of components. These barrels are the cutting edge of accuracy for you next rifle build. For brass life and wide variety of bullet sections offering we consider an adjustable gas block to be mandatory in this caliber.

This Barrel is IN-STOCK READY to Ship! It was a 24" Rifle +3" test barrel we did two of, in order to look at what a .180 Freebore would like. This barrel has 70 rounds on it. 138 ATIPS and N555, H4831sc with a drop tube do best in this configuration. The freebore is not really what we are after for our customers as it only likes one bullet, however, we know folks like to push Atips to the limits so it will serve someone very well.

If you want this item to be Cerakoted, please allow a week to do that before we ship.

The load data and group will ship with the barrel.

Freebore Notes and observations specific to 25 Creedmoor in an AR-10:

1. No handloads 127-138 grains should exceed 2.800" COAL; we have notice extreme trends in accuracy between 2.805-2.825" COAL in ALL freebore options. That is purely based on feeding these projectiles as they are at odd combinations of longer and skinner than the .22, 6mm, and 6.5mm Creedmoor bullet sections. We invented how to feed non standard caliber options in an AR, we would not make this comment in any other way than post testing.

2. At the .150 Freebore SAAMI Spec factory 134 Hornady ammo is jumping .104" depending on the ammo lot and SAAMI spec reamer used as they do not all come out the same. That is obviously not optimal but it does reliably produce average .6-.9moa accuracy, which we are absolutely not happy with. but it is easy to tune to run.

3. As usual we designed our own MTE reamer, like we do in many other cartridges to set this caliber up for success in an AR-10. It is specifically set up to optimize jump, neck alignment post feeding and accuracy forgiveness throughout the heavy for caliber bullet options on the market today all handloaded to 2.790"-2.800" COAL and using H4350. We do not publish MTE reamer design specs as that is to easy for companies to use our R&D to their benefit.... Trust me it is easy to make shoot .3-.6moa groups.

4. With the .180 Freebore option you really need to be trying to push the 138 ATIPs has hard as possible to take advantage of this option. That does put tuning the rifle in somewhat of a narrow window, but its easy to achieve with a JP Silent Captured Spring (JPSC) H3, and 100-110% JPSC spring which is standard in most of there off the shelf options. Slow pooring N555 in a 6" drop tube works best in our experiences.

5. Factory Hornady ammo relies on the long jump to displace powder is such away that it burns off at less initial start peak pressure curves. This means alternative freebore options will have higher peak pressures to initially obturate (make the bullet fill the bore) the projectile. This will narrow how the guns tune regardless of gas system lengths. We put all of these 25 Creedmoor 20"+ barrel options a +3 gas systems, and  recommend using a JP Silent Captured Spring (JPSC) H3, and 100-110% JPSC spring which is standard in most of there off the shelf options

6. As more of an easy button recommendation on this caliber we advise customers to run an adjustable gas block, a JP Silent Captured Spring with the H3 Buffer and 100-110% Spring they send in them off the shelf. We still run Low Mass Carriers though.

These barrels are what we consider to be the best AR barrel on the market for precision shooting. These barrels continue to perform at very high levels on national, regional and local matches in the PRS (Precision Rifle Series) series. If you are looking for a competition barrel or a long range hunting / plinking no compromise barrel for the AR 10 platform this is the answer.

416R Stainless Steel Button Rifling Hand Lapped 1-7 twist Headspaced JP High Pressure Bolt, Stainless Steel Rough non reflective finish and custom Cerakote options available 5/8x24 or 3/4-24.

The Hunter Profile is the lightest profile (limited to 20" barrels), with the SPR Standard being the middle of the road jack of all trades profile, and our favorite, the Competition Contour being the up to 6.5 pound heavier profile barrel.

Note: All AR-10 barrels are DPMS Pattern barrels and sized to fit AR Rifle or longer gas tube systems.
